More Than Words® — The Hanen Program® for Parents of Children With Autism Spectrum Disorder or Social Communication Difficulties

 

KaraJones Communication Therapy is proud to provide the evidence-based, More Than Words training course delivered by a Hanen Certified Speech and Language Therapist.  This is a group training programme for parents of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder or Social Communication Difficulties. This programme can also be delivered individually.

We provide other workshops which are specifically designed to support parents and families with children with social communication difficulties and Autism. These include; ‘Supporting Parents After Diagnosis’ and ‘Getting School Ready.’

Top Tips For Talking

​

This is a fun and child friendly group workshop for parents who would like to be learn some useful tips for talking, communication and play whilst meeting other parents and simply playing with their child – all in the safe hands of specialised Speech and Language Therapists who will provide tailored advice suited to your little ones age and stage of communication. 

​

Come along, grab a coffee and play whilst we watch you play with your child and provide helpful hints along the way. 

 

Signing and Communication

​

Over the course of three sessions, the Speech and Language Therapist will teach you key signs to facilitate your interaction with your little ones.  Our aim is for you to complete our short course understanding the benefits of signing and gesture, disperse the myths around signing and for you to complete the course with five signs which you will use consistently with your child to help them communicate.
